Conclusion

i have now finished my movie and my flash website,
I was very surprised that i adapted very well to using flash, the only thing that i would say about this program is that when something seemed to work completely fine, the next time i opened it up it seemed to do something and not work, this was extremely frustrating for me as i couldnt figure out were i was going wrong.

I thought that my movie went very well and i think that it will stand very well in provoking emotion in people, i think the reason for this is because it is quite simple and people are focusing very much on what it is saying and are being pulled into the emotion atmosphere of the film. My favourite part of the film is when it says "a child dies every second, then it counts to 6 and says that a child is dead" i think this particuliar part will definitely provoke emotion in the audience.

I feel that i still could become stronger in my animations, and even though i adapted well to flash i could make vast improvements in both of these programs.

I have enjoyed doing this project, and have learned quite a lot to take into my final year, some parts were extremely frustrating like flash but in the end it was rewarding when i completed the project and i look forward to improving my skills next year.

Filming

i have now completed 20 seconds of my movie and i feel that i have captured the atmosphere very very well, and i think that i will accomplish my goal of evoking emotion in people. One of the main reasons for this is the music.

Length of Movie

I have decided to keep my movie quite short because i want to make my movie so it could be used as say a television advert, so i think that my movie is going to be around 40 seconds long, and i will work around that figure.

Technique

There are 2 programmes that i am thinking about using for this project and these programs are flash and motion, after using both of them this year i have decided that motion would be my best option, mostly because after using flash i find it can be quite glitchy when it comes to making a movie, so i am going to use "imotion" for my film instead. also another reason for this is motion has a much bigger range of options wen making something as it has quite a bit of animations that you can add to the image. I also feel quite confident with motion now as i have used it before in projects.

Style

After being stuck on what sort of style i will use for my movie i have decided that it would be best to keep it as simple as possible because then people will not be following a lot of different things on the screen at once and they can pay their full attention to where i want it to be aimed, i will be using quite a bit of text in this movie and this is because i am only going to use still images, i think this is a very effective technique using still images in animations as it seems as if they are stuck in that moment and this is emphasised because things are moving near the image.

Style

I have been thinking of many a different styles for my movie, one of them was showing the differences of people who are devastatingly poor and ordinary people you would see everyday in newcastle, i was going to do this in a split screen sort of way at some parts but then i felt that it would be very difficult to get the flow completely correct.So i would think of te syle of the film over the next week.

Music

I have been thinking a lot about the music that i should use in this video and i have decided that it would be best to use quite soothing music, as i don't want the music to be the main focus in this video and more of what is on screen so i have decided to use orchestra like music in the background. I think that this will provoke more emotion in people as music can set the mood more than what is actually on screen.

this is one of the adverts which swayed my choice to make this video instead of the other options i had available to me, this video triggered emotions in me and this is a relatively simple video

My film Idea

Out of all of my ideas i decided to go with my idea which was based upon the work that UNICEF do throughout the world, the reason i picked this is because i feel that i can trigger emotions in people because even when i was younger i can remember watching these adverts and feeling guilty that i am not helping these people that are so much worse off than what i and the people around me are.

Research

I really didn't no at this point what subject i was going to base my assignment on so i decided to research 3 different topics, the first of these was going to be schizophrenia ,the reason for this is because i thought that it would make a really good movie, with plenty of material to use as well, I also liked the idea that their code be sharp changes in the movie from calm to really crazy and mad the next.

The next one would have been based on insomnia, the reason i thought of this idea was because it is something that effects people quite frequently, and i also suffered from insomnia last year. After researching insomnia i found there to be some very interesting facts about the disease, and a lot of these facts were stuff that i could use in my film as they were some very hard hitting facts and figures.

The final idea was not a mental disease like the rest but instead it is something that affects more people in the world and is a constant problem for these people, this is neglect, starvation, poverty. So if i use this i am going to use the worldwide company known as Unicef as a centre point for my project to try and evoke emotion to the audience.

Initial Ideas

When i first got this assignment and started thinking about what i would choose my final assignment to be on i didn't know what to choose, i had a couple of ideas in my head but not very strong ideas, so i decided to do some research on my ideas as i did want to lose any unecessary time in working on parts of work that i wouldn't use in the end.
